In 2017, KTAA was born!
We began hosting acting workshops at the Observatory Community Centre in Cape Town. Our aim then was, and still is, to provide a safe space for individuals to come and hone in on their passion, skills and techniques within theatre, acting and performance. This includes working on different aspects including voice work, physical movement, improvisation skills, monologue and scene work for stage and screen.
Our classes are for individuals with varying backgrounds and interests in the arts field. We are an all inclusive initiative. This means that we work collaboratively with absolute beginners, those who have had some training and those who are more advanced. This could be with a focus on drama, dance, music, writing or performance.
Since our classes began we have evolved our interest in working in the community through an outreach and arts education initiative, working with vulnerable groups through a specifically designed programme on combating social and community specific needs.
